Daniel H. Johnston, Principal, A.I.A., N.C.A.R.B.

During his more than twenty years of experience directing the design and management of architectural projects that included medium sized commercial, industrial, hospitality, and residential building types, Daniel Johnston has focused on project integrity. He is a strong advocate for simple, elegant design solutions that respect a client’s program requirements and the budget allocated for the project. Within the varied building types, his projects celebrate the optimism of technology and architectural innovation. His training and past projects demonstrate an advocacy of architecture that embraces the strategies of sustainable design.

Daniel’s recent work includes wine production facilities for the Derby Wine Estates in Paso Robles, California, the Ski Hut Townhomes in Ketchum, Idaho, design of a restaurant in Rancho Bernardo, California, and a single family residence in Point Loma, California. Daniel received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo in 1981, became a member of the American Institute of Architects in 1983, and was accredited with the N.C.A.R.B. in 1989. Daniel founded the firm, Architecture, J. A., Inc. in 1991.
